A process and an installation are described for continuously mixing a bulk filling material, e.g. glacial silt, with a binding agent such as lime or cement. The correctly proportioned mixt. is used in public works constructions, partic. for roads and motorways. A mechanical digger with rotary bucket wheel delivers the ballast over a weighing conveyor into a mixing hopper. The weighing appts. signals the rate of ballast delivery to a control unit which adjusts volumetric dispenser(s) delivering binding agent.
