The large-area irrigation feed comprises a watering trolley supplied via a hose unwound from a drum, and hauled in again by pulling on the hose. The outward drive for the truck is powered by a turbine driven by the water delivered to it, while a reversing control changes over from this to allow hauling in by the irrigation hose. The turbine can be used to drive a winch on a transport truck for the watering truck, the winch rope being reeved round a pulley on a bracket at the far end of the strip of ground to be watered.
