Jig includes an arm, which can be driven longitudinally and transversely in a horizontal plane. The arm is driven longitudinally and telescopically by the piston of a jack, and this movement causes the rotation of chains which drive a chain wheel. The chain wheel is fixed onto a holder for a casting pipe, so that when the arm is extended, the pipe swivels from a horizontal position to a vertical position, so it can easily be attached to a ladle. Specifically on a tundish trolley is a vertical pivot mounting for a tubular chassis contg. a stationary jack. The piston rod of the jack is fixed by two bars to one end of a tubular arm, which can thus be driven telescopically along chassis via guide rollers.
