Bundle tying machine for angle sections - supports bundle while wire is looped by side arms, rotated to form knot

The machine for securing a rectangular bundle of bars such as angle sections has a supporting plate (28) carrying the bundle (29) while two vertical arms (24) are moved inwards while the binding wire (30) is passed through a horizontal guide (30) below. After the guide has been retracted, the wire is retained between members (26,27) at the bottom of each arm. The arms are moved apart while the bundle is supported, and are raised to lift the wire vertically along each side of the bundle. The arms are then moved inwards horizontally to meet over the top of the bundle, forming a complete loop around it. These are attached to a cross member (16) mounted on a vertical column (4) which is rotated by a drive at the top. The whole structure is supported by a pillar (48) offset to one side. This forms a crossing point for the ends of the wire so that it can be connected.
