摘要
Compsn. contg. a chlorinated fatty substance is claimed, which contains sufficient bound chlorine so that when it is added to a feed complement it limits the ingestion of the complement by ruminants and limits feed consumption. The compsn. may also contain other substances which limit complement ingestion, such as flesh (e.g. fish) or meat meal, diammonium phosphate, ammonium sulphate or their mixts. The bound chlorine content of the fatty substance is pref. 0.2-7.0 wt.%, pref. above 0.5 wt.% partic. 0.9-1.5 wt.%. The fatty substance is usually animal or vegetable fats, which when chlorinated have pH 4.0-7.0. It is economic, when feeding cattle and other ruminants, to limit feed complements (proteins) to the amounts necessary to give good wt.gain or retention. This usually implies controlled rationing, to avoid the cattle eating more complement than is necessary. The present invention allows free-access by the cattle to the complement and automatically regulates the amount ingested.
