The device e.g. for a movement detector conserves the analogue character of the signal, and comprises a video amplifier receiving the video signals. These signals are applied to a video bus, a line/frame separator which also receives the video signals and supplies separately a bus frame and a bus line, and an analysis assembly. The latter comprises a window generator connected to the bus frame and line to provide a square wave signal where each puke last in synchronism with the camera sweep for the time the sweep traverses an imaginary rectangular window where the four parameter edges are separately controllable. A synthetic video generator supplied by and synchronised with the square wave signal is also part of the assembly with a sampler whose analogue input connects with the video bus and digital input receives the signal from the generator or directly from the window generator, a principal converter whose analogue input receives the sampler output and digital input connects with the frame bus to ensure synchronisation, the converter forming a continuous analogue signal from the discontinuous signal, and an output converter deriving an analogue signal of any size from the continuous signal.
