Hot runner injection moulding manifold - with integral induction heating to balance runner temps. and enhance melt fluidity

A runner system for an injection moulding process involving multiple gates is assembled from blocks made of material having high electrical hysteresis loss characteristics for effective heating by induction heating elements. Appts. is used for supplying either multiple cavity or multiple gate single cavity moulds, to maintain the melt temp. through extensive runner paths and/or keep the melt temp. balanced between runners of differing length. Appts. is esp. suitable for heating moulding materials susceptible to microwave heating, where the induced mobility of the material increases fluidity for e.g. filling deep and/or narrow cavities.
