Forming complicated shaped articles - using gas gun producing impact load, with die, blank and gas gun barrel immersed in liquid

The method for forming articles by impact load caused in glycerine or other liquid (3) by a shot from a gas gun (1) consists in that a die (4) together with a blank (5) and a gas gun barrel are immersed in the liquid. Thereafter the gas gun barrel bore is filled with an explosive gas mixture the initial pressure of which within the barrel bore exceeds the hydrostatic pressure of the liquid (3) and the charge is ignited. The gas gun is closed by a membrane (11) which is broken by the explosion and has ducts (9) for delivering an explosive gas mixture and an igniter (10).
