Gas turbine driven electricity generator - includes heat exchange circuit condensing water vapour from exhaust and supplying water to gas-vapour mixing valve on inlet
Gas turbine driven electricity generator - includes heat exchange circuit condensing water vapour from exhaust and supplying water to gas-vapour mixing valve on inlet
The generator includes a compressor (1) mounted on the same shaft (2) as a gas and vapour driven turbine (3) and an electrical generator (4). The air compressor is connected in series with a mixing device (5) protruding the vapour-gas mixture which is fed to the turbine (3). Following the turbine there is a heat exchanger taking heat from the turbine exhaust gases and conveying hot water to the fuel mixing device (5). A condenser (7) then removes vapour from the exhaust and this is carried around to a water cooler. Exhaust gas is taken through a further heat exchanger (10) by a vacuum pump (9) attached to the common shaft. This heat exchanger is connected in the same circuit as the water cooling heat exchanger. Pumps (11,12) circulate the water in the two parts of the circuit (to the mixer, and heat exchanger).
