A tubular mandrel (15) has a rotary location (16) at the front end of a cylinder tube (12). The protruding end of the mandrel has three axial slots (17) for the location of cylindrical rollers which are used for the radial expansion of tubes. A tapered shaft (18), which is an extension of the piston rod (22), is axially moved by the pneumatic or hydraulic piston (24). As the shaft is inserted into the hollow mandrel (15), the cylindrical rollers in the slots are forced against the tube wall which is being expanded.
