Security controller for transaction transmission system - uses file system and requires personal code and magnetic badge identification to be compared with storage file data

An operating terminal operates with a keyboard and a magnetic badge reader. The badge contains identification characteristics of the user and is entered into the reader when the user can type the personal code followed by a secret base key on the keyboard. A random number generator at the terminal enables a random traffic key to be generated. This enables a message to be typed in clear language for transmission to the management centre in a coded form where a file system containing the identities of the users, the personal code numbers and base keys is addressed for comparison of the information. At the centre the message is deciphered and if the file and transmitted data agree then a return message is composed for transmission to the user.
