The heat recuperato consists of a tubular gas-to-air heat exchanger mounted in the chimney flue. An insulated fresh air inlet box (3) houses the ventilator (9) and contains a connector (10) for the inlet duct (11). The inlet duct runs transversely to the axis of the chimney flue. An insulated outlet box (2) is fitted to the opposite side of the flue with an outlet connection (5). A flue damper (4) is provided to close off the chimney when the fire is not in use.
