The plant pot both provides sufficient moisture for the roots and increases the humidity of the air around the foliage, being completely automatic in operation. Simple refilling of the pot can be sufficient to set it working, and it can comprise an external glazed earthenware portion forming the water reservoir, while the internal earthenware portion is porous. An upper ring has openings for evaporation, providing the humidity for the foliage. The pot can be left for as much as 30 days between refills.
