The cooker is partic. suited to boiling eggs, using steam cooking of the eggs and having an automatic timer regulating the electrically powered heating element installed in the base of the cooker. A lower chamber is filled to a set level with water. Filling is by removing the lid at the top of the cooker and the water passes through the top chamber and down the tube linking the upper and lower chambers. The eggs are placed in a basket in the upper chamber, the electric timer control set and the power applied. The water in the lower chamber boils forcing steam into the upper chamber. A thermocouple fitted on the inner wall of the upper chamber switches on the timer circuit when the set temp. is reached, and the timer switches off the supply to the heating element when the set time has elapsed.
