Compsn. for removing tartar from the teeth and-or treating demineralisation of hard tissue (esp. teeth) consists of an aq. soln. of C02. pref. the soln. is satd., esp. under a pressure of 1-4 atmos. The compsn. may also contain dissolved metal carbonates, particularly natural inorganic carbonates. The soln. is esp. satd. with carbonate, e.g. calcite, magnesite or siderite, and may contain undissolved material is suspension. The compsns. are formulated in standard spray containers. The compsns. are particularly useful for curative or preventative treatment of dental caries, esp. by direct projection onto the teeth.
