The tool holder includes a ring with an axis coinciding with the axis of a machine tool, which has a spindle driving a shaft on the axis in the ring (a). The shaft (b) has gear teeth driving a gear ring with an axis which is displaced w.r.t. the first axis. The gear ring has internal teeth driving a spindle on a third axis and a tool, e.g. a milling cutter, is located in the spindle. The gear ring is located in a housing, which is rotated on the ring by a worm and wormwheel. The result is that the spindle travels through an arc w.r.t. the axis, esp. so the tool can cut a curved groove in a workpiece.
