The feed unrolls soft material from a reel which is on a horizontal shaft, between two bearings, and unwinds under tension by a drive towards a work post. Two cheeks carry the bearings in which the roller shaft slides and rolls. There is a displacement drive for the cheeks, each moving separately, parallel to the roller shaft. A slide carries the cheek displacement drive moving parallel to the roller shaft. Position sensors cause necessary adjustments via a centralising control for a motor driving the slide. The cheek displacement is by slides, separately driven.
