Console for programmed eye testing - operates in four phases using indelible engravings for prior, monocular, binocular and close vision tests
The arrangement uses a console which has four distinct control phases which comprise a prior examination followed by a monocular and a binocular examination, and finally a close vision test. Each test utilises a set of pushbuttons which actuate relays to control the switching of the lighting of single translucent tests. Further pushbuttons control the development of the tests which are set on rotating discs. The prior examination involves a control for an acuity scale and another for testing for astigmatism. The setting to zero of the tests is automatically provided by a relay. The binocular examination involves seven preselected tests which are indicated in a memory and on the console. One of the tests is polarised to obtain a measurement of stereoscopic vision.
