Table with central induction heated hot plate - uses medium frequency inverter in table pedestal to heat central hot plate by electromagnetic induction

The table is of circular or polygon shape and has an inbuilt to keep warm fondue dishes, condiments, and the like. A rotating ring placed round the hot plate allows the heated container to be rotated to face each diner, removing the need to handle the hot container. A control pedestal (2) contains an inverter circuit (9)which converts mains frequency to 25 to 35 kHz alternating current. The medium frequency ac is applied to a pancake coil (8) which heats the cylindrical hot plate (4) in the centre of the table surface. An annular ring (14) fits in a groove in the table surface (1), and supports the heated container. The ring (14) is free to rotate in its groove, rotating the container with it.
