The Haag-Streil type lamp support contains a disc with holes for the ventilation of the lamp. The disc has a positioning notch and is mounted on a rod. A plastics part is fitted with another rod is positioned on the disc by a stud. The longitudinal axis of the bulb filament is orientated so as to be in the axis of the lamp slot. This support permits the use of a quartz-iodine halogen lamp instead of the usual incandescent lamp. This support can be used for any slotted lamp in the medical field, e.g. examination of the eye, of an occular prosthesis etc., or in iridology.
