The electrical supply system includes two separate circuits. A first group (1A) comprises lowpower units (2-5) supplied from a battery of accumulators (11). The accumulators are charged by photoelectric cells (10) via a circuit (12). The second group (16) comprises higher power units (6-9) supplied from the main supply (13). A battery charger (16) is provided to charge the battery of accumulators if the current provided by the photoelectric cells is insufficient to maintain the battery level. This charger has priority over the high power consuming appliances in order to ensure the continued operation of the low power units.
