Tiles of cellular sheet with slightly divergent metal covers - give panels which maintain lateral contact despite small dimensional fluctuations

A decorative cladding slab or tile comprises a slab of expanded polystyrene or other cellular matl. covered with a sheet or metal such as aluminium, the borders of which are folded to enclose the vertical edges of the base slab whilst projecting obliquely slightly beyond those edges. Such splayed borders of two adjacent slabs pressed into mutual contact can deflect to maintain continuity between the covers despite small dimensional variations due to thermal fluctuations etc.. The metal covers are bonded to the cellular core slabs by any suitable conventional adhesive.
