The device has a lamp holder which is integral with an external diffuser, allowing both the lamp and its holder to be detached from the wall mounting. The electrical connection is provided by spring clips in the bulb carrier which contact pins carried on the wall mounting bracket. The pins are connected, through a switch to the mains electric supply. The bulb holder has an integral guide pin which fits into the base and the wall mounted plug has a sealing ring (4) around its exterior to provide location for the bulb holder socket and to provide a water proof seal to exclude condensation moisture.
