Rotary pliers for string stretching in tennis racket stringing, the pliers comprising a rotating body rotatably carried in a stationary mounting or support member and control operated. The rotating body comprises a string winding up surface, a space or recess for receiving the string, capable of being enlarged and restricted to clamp the string, the space or recess being restricted by spring means and enlarged by interaction between a feeler element rotatably driven with the rotating body and an abutting element integral with the mounting of support member.
