Heterocyclic-substituted hydrazides and hydrazones as plant growth regulators

A class of novel compounds is disclosed which has utility as plant growth regulators, having the general formula: ##STR1## in which X is O or S,PPY is one of the group: ##STR2## R is H or CH. sub.3, Q is phenyl or chlorophenyl whenPPQ' is hydrogen, or Q and Q' together may form the remainder of a benzene ring.
