PURPOSE:To lengthen the life the accumulator in the caption by connecting a corrosion-resisting electrode piece, which generates oxygen gas with baser voltage than an anode plate, in parallel to the anode plate to be immersed into electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:Because of the oxygen gas generated at an electrode piece 2, the voltage at an anode plate 1 becomes base as well as the voltage of a cathode plate 4 using a grid consisting of a Pb-Ca system alloy becomes base to increase a charging current. The charginc currnt, even if it is big, flows to the electrode having small oxygen over voltage at the anode so that the anode plate has base voltage and only a small current flos thereto, thus causing no increased corrosion of the grid.
