The cylindrical-wall silo is of the type built-up from a number of rectangular plates provided with bolt holes, which plates are part-cylindrically curved and have flanged edges (20,21,22). At least one straight edge is not provided with a flange whilst the other straight edge (22) and at least one curved edge (20,21) is flanged. The plates may be flanged at only two adjoining edges. The curved flanged edge of each plate may diverge relative to the low of bolt holes along the opposite edge such that the intervening distance on the straight unflanged edge is greater by one plate thickness than at the opposite edge.
