TESTING METHOD ON DEHYDRATION PERFORMANCE OF FILTER PRESS

PURPOSE:To estimate the dehydration performance of a filter press in excellent accuracy, by injecting sludge to be treated into a testing apparatus having two filter plates of the same construction as that of the filter press and having a filter cloth interposed between the filter plates, and dehydrating the sludge. CONSTITUTION:In dehydrating the sludge in a sludge tank 25 by sending it to a filter press A by a hydraulic pump 24; a testing apparatus B is arranged, of which a filter plate 3 of two filter plates 3 and 5 is fixed and the other plate 5 is set movably to interpose a filter cloth 9 in duplicate between the plates 3 and 5, and a sludge pipe 20 and a pressed water pipe 21 are branched and connected to the apparatus B. When the plates 3 and 5 is in pressed contact with each other, the sludge in the tank 25 is injected into the space between the plates, and further, pressed water is forced to enter the space from a water tank 27 by a pressing pump 26, testing the dehydration performance of the sludge. From the testing results, the dehydration performance of the sludge by using the filter press A is accurately obtained.
