METHOD FOR ABSORBING AND SEPARATING EXCESSIVE MOISTURE IN WATER INSOLUBLE AND HARDLY WATER SOLUBLE SOLVENT CONTAINING SURFACTANT

PURPOSE:To separate and remove moisture from an emulsified liquid without using heat energy, by passing the emulsified liquid containing a surfactant through a tank packed with a specific powdery dehydrating agent carrying material. CONSTITUTION:An emulsified liquid, wherein a surfactant and excessive moisture are contained in a water insoluble or hardly water soluble solution and the solvent and water therein are emulsified by the surfactant, is sent under pressure from the pour-in port 6 of a filter. The emulsified liquid is flowed into a reaction chamber 1 from the upper part opening 8 thereof through an introducing pipe 7 to be introduced into a layer 2 packed with a hydrophilic dehydrating agent carring material containing an org. dehydrating agent and excessive water contacted and reacted with the dehydrating agent is gelled in a jelly like form. This gel is accumulated in the interior of the layer 2 packed with the powdery dehydrating agent carrying material molded with short fiber with high hydrophilicity. A part of the gel like substance flowed out of the layer 2 is blocked by a filter metal net 3 and a hydrophobic paper filter 4 and unreacted excessive water is passed through a hydrophilic multi-layered filter 5 made of filter papers to break emulsion as well as to be separated by absorbing the same with the filter paper 5 and the solvent and the surfactant are taken out as filtrate.
