PETROLEUM EXCAVATION PLATFORM FOR ICY SEA

PURPOSE:To prevent the sea surface between a platform and a deicing frame from freezing even in winter by arranging upper and lower elastic sheets in the space between the platform and the deicing device. CONSTITUTION:A platform 1 is moored to the seabed A by anchors 3 and wires 4. A deicing frame 10 consisting of floating type frame mebers 7 is arranged to surround the sea around the platform 1, and moored to the seabed A by anchors 12 and wires 11. Upper and lower elastic sheets 13 and 14 such as rubber sheets are stretched across the space between the platform 1 and the deicing frame 10, to cover the space and shield or thermally insulate the sea surface in the space form the air.
