PURPOSE:To treat night soil extremely efficiently with smaller land and costs, by filtering the supernatant liquer of raw night soil removed of extraneous materials after biological treatment without dilution, returning the filtrate to a biological treatment, burning excess sludge, concentrating treated water with the heat obtained by said combustion and thus oxidizing smells. CONSTITUTION:Raw night soil (a) flows through a settling tank 1, an accepting tank 2 and a pump operated crusher 3, and is stored in a bunker 25 after crushed extraneous materials are removed with devices 4, 5. The supernatant liquer (b) is stored in a tank 6, and is treated successively in a digesting tank 7, biological treating tank 8 without dilution, denitrifying tank 9, settling tank 10, digesting tank 11, denitrifying tank 12, digesting tank 13, and settling tank 14. The sludge in the tank 14 is returned to the tank 12, and the supernatant liquer is put into a tank 42. The sludge (c) in the tank 10 is agitated under diffusion of air in a tank 15, whereafter the sludge is separated in a concentrating tank 17. The superpnatant liquer (e) is returned to the tank 11, and the sludge is separated in a tank 21 after agitation under diffusion of air in a tank 19. The supernatant (e) is returned to the tank 11. The sludge is dehydrated powerfully with a device 23 and the supernatant liquer (e) is returned to the tank 11. The sludge is stored in the bunker 25. The sludge is burned in an incineration furnace and the filtrate in a tank 42 is gassified and concd. by the heat energy generated by the combustion, whereby the smells generated during the stage are oxidized at high temp.
