PURPOSE:To obtain closely densed glass slag attached with no moisture, by a method wherein mass treatment is carried out by supplying molten blast-furnace slag to the clearance between a cooled moving bed and a water-cooled rotary roll and by cooling and solidifying it while rolled in a thin platy state. CONSTITUTION:Molten blast-furnace slag 7 fallen onto a moving bed 1 from a nozzle 5 installed at the bottom of molten slag gutter 4, is rolled between the moving bed 1 and the rotary roll 3. In that case, it is indirectly cooled and solidified by cooling water injected from a spray nozzle 2 installed under the moving bed 1 and by cooling water supplied to the rotary roll 3, and becomes platy slag 8 with a thickness of not more than 5mm.. This platy slag 8 breaks at the returning part of moving bed 8 end, and falls onto an outgoing conveyor 6. By this method, the warpage of platy slag is prevented; the crystallized parts due to slow cooling are eliminated, so the glass slag suitable for the raw materials of slag cement is obtained.
