CONTROLLING METHOD FOR ACTIVATED CARBON FILTERING BESIN

PURPOSE:To control activated carbon filtering basins effectively by measuring the odor component amts. and flow rates of raw water and purified water, calculating the stuck odor components of activated carbon and announcing the time for replacement of activated carbon filter beds upon arrival of the value thereof at a specified value. CONSTITUTION:The samples of raw water 1 and purified water 6 are collected with a test water pump 9, and the quality thereof is detected with a sensor 10, by which the odor component amt. PTi of the raw water and the odor componet amt. PT0 of the purified water are obtained. An arithmetic controlling device 11 is inputted with the amt. PTi, the flow rate Qi of the raw water, the amt. PT0, the flow rate Qo of the purified water and the normal value PMs of the stuck odor components, processes these arithmetically therein, and outpts the time for replacement. These make it possible to replace the activated carbon filter beds 8 of an activated carbon filter besin 4 in a purification plant at a proper timing as well as to control the activated carbon filter basins effectively by eliminating the defectiveness of deodorization treatments.
