USE:Hypotensor with low toxicity. PREPARATION:For example, barks of mulberry tree roots are finely cut, defatted with a low-polarity organic solvent, then extracted with a lower alcohol. The extract is filtered, the filtrate is dried under reduced pressure to obtain an extract. The extract is subjected to column chromatography to separate impurities and collect fractions containing sangenone D. Then, sangenone is isolated and purified.
