PROCESS FOR PROMOTING GROWTH OF DOMESTIC FOWL

PURPOSE:To raise the growth rate and feed demanding ratio of domestic fowl and to promote the growth of domestic fowl effectively, by feeding a given amount of testosterone, male hormone, or its derivative to domestic fowls in a period from immediately after hatching to fixed time. CONSTITUTION:Testosterone shown by the formula or its derivative is added to female domestic fowls 0-5 days after hatching, and its amount is 0.01- 100mug, usually about 0.03-3mug calaculated as testosterone per domestic fowl to promote the growth of female domestic fowls. Testosterone and its derivative may be administered alone or one or more of them may be mixed and applied. In administration form, the above-mentioned testosterone may be dissolved in ethanol, etc., or it may be emulsified into water using a surface active agent such as polysorbate 80, etc. In administration method, preferably it is injected into the skin or muscle of young domestic fowls, or scattered or applied to them.
