METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PREPARING SAMPLE FOR MEASURING DEHYDRATING PROPERTY OF SLUDGE

PURPOSE:To prevent the stagnation of sludge water and to perform the measurement of water content of a sludge cake accurately and also, to appraise the dehydrating property of the sludge precisely, by discharging the sludge water produced during the sludge compression from both ends of a compression direction. CONSTITUTION:The lower face of a pressure receiving plate 2 is positioned so as to separate from the opening face of a vessel 1 sufficiently by rotating a handle 17 and a filter cloth 4 is placed on the upper face of a piston 3. Then, a sludge 6 is poured on the cloth 4 and a filter cloth 5 is placed on the upper face of the sludge 6. Next, the plate 2 is dropped down until the lower face of the plate 2 is stopped at a position a little higher than the opening face of the vessel 1. Hereafter, a press shaft 12 is pushed up by raising up a rod 15A of an oil pressure cylinder 15 and the sludge 6 is compressed by a piston 3 between the pressure receiving face of the body 2 and the piston 3. The sludge water produced from the sludge 6 is discharged by this compression from a gap formed by a through hole 3A bored in the piston 3 and the inner fringe of the upper end opening face of the vessel 1 and also, the outer fringe of the plate 2.
