1530594 Gas turbine combustion chambers ROLLS ROYCE Ltd 4 Dec 1975 [13 Dec 1974] 53892/74 Heading F1L A perforate laminated material e.g. for the wall of a gas turbine combustion chamber, comprises at least two abutting sheets 1, 4, brazed together in face-to-face relationship, the sheets being provided with respective perforations 2, 5 connected by channels 3, 6, the total cross-sectional area of the perforations in at least one sheet being at least double that of the perforations in the remaining sheet or sheets per unit area. Sheet 1 may have spacing ribs 41 to which an imperforate sheet 40 is brazed to define a passage to which cooling air 7 is supplied. The perforations may be electrochemically etched circular holes of the same or different diameters, in the former case there being at least twice as many holes in one sheet per unit area as in any other sheet. The holes may be randomly or evenly distributed. The sheets may be of nickel alloy. Several modifications are described. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1226751.
