PURPOSE:To obtain a hologram by subjecting the input data of an objective picture image to Fourier transformation by using a computer, calculating the intensity of a synthesized wave by using reference wave data to record the same in the dot of the area corresponding to the intensity on the recording paper and to reduce with photography. CONSTITUTION:The input data of a symmetrical picture image is read with an input device 11 and is inputted to a CPU10 through an interface 13. The CPU10 subjects the data to Fourier transformation processing, and calculates the intensity of a synthesized wave by using the Fourier transformed value and the predetermined reference wave data. The data of the synthesized wave is recorded on a recording medium by an output device 12. The data is read with an input device 21 and is inputted to a CPU20. In the formation of a hologram with a dot recorder 22, the inside of the recording region of recording paper is divided to the picture elements corresponding to the sample number of the objective picture image, and the dots of the area corresponding to the intensity of the synthesized wave are drawn in each picture element. The recording paper recorded with the data of the intensity of the synthesized wave is reduced on a negative or positive film by the technique of photographic copying, whereby the hologram is obtained.
