PURPOSE:To inspect safely a leakage, by taking powdered silver nitrate in a capsule carrying a special form nuclear fuel material etc., welding a connection part and determining the eluted quantity of Ag after subjecting to a color test, moreover, impact, blow, bending and heating tests then, successively immersing in water of a prescribed temperature for a prescribed time. CONSTITUTION:Powdered AgNO3 is taken in a capsule carrying a special form nuclear fuel material etc. having radioactivity exceeding A2 value of Notification No. 11 of the Science and Technology Agency as an A type transport material (except a fissionable transport material) and a connection part is welded, and a color test confirming whether said part is perfectly welded or not is carried out. Hereafter, shock, blow, bending and heating tests determined by the Notification are carried out and eluted quantity of Ag is measured by an atomic absorption method after subjecting an immersion test immersing in 50 deg.C warm water for 30min at every each test or allowing to stand still for 4hr immersing in the 50 deg.C warm water after all tests are finished. In this manner, the existence of a leakage is detected harmlessly by using the AgNO3 having no danger against the leakage of the radioactivity.
