Disclosed are zirconium-containing borosilicate glass compositions having a refractive index ne between 1.55 and 1.72, and Abbe number nu e between 50 and 34 and a negative anomalous partial dispersion value DELTA nu e between -3.0 and -7.7. Also disclosed is a process for the production of such glass compositions.
