PURPOSE:To obtain an ASK modulator with large on/off ratio without insertion loss at diode-on, by constituting the ASK modulator through the coupling between a switching diode and a resonator. CONSTITUTION:A carrier wave is inputted to a carrier wave input port 1, passes through a microstrip line 2 and is outputted from a modulation wave output port 2. The modulation wave is inputted to a modulation wave pulse input port 3 and a diode 4 on a microstrip line type link resonator 3 is turned on or off. When the diode 4 turns on, the resonator 3 is operative as a resonator, the transmission loss of the line 2 is infinite, the resonator is at open loop when the diode 4 turns off and the resonator is inoperative as the resonator and the transmission loss of the line 2 is zero. Thus, a carrier wave switched with the modulation wave appears on the modulation wave output port 2.
