COMPOSITION TO PRODUCE THICK-WALLED PLASTIC MOLDING DECORATED WITH FLOW PATTERN

PURPOSE:To repovide the titled compsn. readily forming thick-walled moldings decorated with flow pattern, such as an outdoor flower pot, prepared by mixing a polyethylene terephthalate resin having specified water content and intrinsic viscosity with polyethylene in a specified blend ratio. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. is prepared by melt blending 20-70wt% thermoplastic polyester resin consisting mainly of ethylene terephthalate repeating units and having a water content of 0.01-0.4wt% and an intrinsic viscosity number of 0.55 or higher with 80-30wt% polyethylene resin. The compsn. is injection molded at about 270+ or -15 deg.C under the pressure of 15kg/cm2 into thick-walled moldings such as a garden table and chair. Crushed pieces of used resin moldings and wastes in the molding process may be utilized as resin components.
