The self-tightening sling is intended for lifting sacks (11) or the like. It comprises a lower part (1) having a strap arranged in the form of a clover leaf (loops 4) and an upper part (2) having two parallel strap portions (6,7) and two diagonal cross-over portions (8,9) whilst the four corners form loops (5) which can be secured to the clover leaf loops (4) via self-tightening knots (12) and then form lifting loops (5). The two parallel strap portions (6,7) are connected via a separate strap length (10) stitched to points half-way their lengths. This strap (10) is pref. also stitched to the cross-over point of the diagonal portions (8,9).FL.
