The arrangement is intended for collecting solar energy, particularly on a roof. It comprises a supporting (inclined) layer (4) (e.g. on roof tile) carrying a number of spaced parallel heat transfer elements (1, e.g. containing tubes 17,18) each arranged below a transparent cover (2) and enclosed in an evacuated space (3) below this cover. Each element (1) may contain two tubes (17,18) for a heat transfer fluid of which one (17) is in heat conducting contact with the heat-absorbing support layer (4) and exposed to direct solar radiation whilst the other is thermally insulated from this layer (4).
