Heat pump or refrigeration plant - using aq. soln. of ammonia in centrifuge which is used to release ammonia gas from soln., the gas then being redissolved to liberate heat

The pump or plant uses a soln. of ammonia in water and a centrifuge. The density of water decreaes with increase in its content of dissolved ammonia; and the soln. is continuously centrifuged, so an aq. soln. with a high ammonia content is present at the axis of the centrifuge. With sufficient ammonia in the water, NH3 is evolved at the centrifuge axis and thus extracts heat from a "cold source" in a heat exchanger. The ammonia gas evolved is then redissolved in water at the periphery of the centrifuge to liberate its heat of soln., which is exploited in another heat exchanger.
