摘要

A process for regeneration of cobalt catalyst or cobalt and manganese catalyst from the waste residue stream from dimethyl terephthalate manufacturing process comprising heating, the said waste residue stream in more than equal amount of water, separating the aqueous layer from the mixture of water and waste residue stream and reacting the said aqueous layer with an alkali and carboxylic acids having 2 to 12 carbon atoms or mixtures of said acid with the formation of carboxylic acid salts of cobalt and manganese and dissolving said carboxylic acid salts preferably in pxylene to obtain said catalyst.
