When tankers are loaded with liquids or gases and the load is measured volumetrically, errors can arise because of expansion of contraction due to temp. differences. This device heats or cools the fluid so that loading and delivery can be made at the same constant temp. The temp. of the fluid is monitored as it enters a housing containing a heating element and a cooling fan. It flows through a ribbed pipe where its temp. is brought to the required level before it is measured by a volumetric measuring device.
