Reinforced plaster for hand or machine application - from mortar contg. sand, cement, steel fibres, polymer dispersion and acrylic copolymer

Reinforced plasterwork is made from a mortar comprising 75 litres sand, 25 litres cement, 6 litres steel fibre, 0.75 litres thermoplastic polymer dispersion and 0.005 litres acrylic copolymer. The mortar may be applied by hand or by a suitable spraying machine. The compsns. are applied by hand or machine in layers 20-60 mm thick after removing loose material from the substrate with a stiff brush. The mortars can be applied to a range of substrates and after hardening give a durable, tough, impact-resistant, crack-resistant, adherent covering. The compsns. can be used on new buildings or for renovation work, e.g. a 20-40 mm layer of the plaster on one or both sides of a load bearing wall can increase its strength by 50-100%; the insulation values of walls can be doubled; damaged brickwork can be restored; and fire damaged chimneys can be renovated without demolition.
