摘要

The composite consists of a base in the form of a lead sheet and a layer, irreleaseably joined to the base, of a thermoplastic having a glass transition temperature or melting temperature below the melting point of lead. Fluorine-containing thermoplastics, in particular tetrafluoroethylene/hexafluoropropylene copolymer, are preferred. To prepare the composite, the lead sheet is etched, preferably coated with pulverulent thermoplastics and, after sintering or melting of this layer, a thermoplastic film is pressed onto the sheet at a temperature from 290 to 320 DEG C. The composite can be worked like lead and is used for lining vessels and the like, especially as an apron and seal in multi-part chimneys.
