This packaging tray is intended to provide a stable disposable pack which is suitable for the transport and despatch of articles, such as books, records, cassettes, samples. The bottom of the tray consists of a frame (2) and of webs (3) with orifices (8) between them. The marginal edges (4) surrounding this bottom are inclined outwards and have a corrugated profile. When only one packaging tray is used, the article to be packaged is introduced into this packaging tray and is covered, together with the latter, with a shrink film, whereas, when two packaging trays are used, the article to be packaged is introduced between two packaging trays directed with their marginal edges towards one another, and these two packaging trays are thereupon covered with a shrink film.
